This place is always good for a great hot dog. It was featured on Guy Fieri Diners Drive In and Dives. He employs lots of high school students and get them started right. The venue closed Jan 2017.

Yum. So good. My first time in and it was nearly impossible to choose what to get. The menu is HUGE, which I normally hate, but not at a hotdog joint(you don't need to worry too much about freshness with BBQ sauce and I'm sure it all moves so quick with how busy they are!). I do not remember the names of the three I chose, one was covered in Mac and cheese, one had white BBQ sauce, bacon and crispy onions the last was the Elvis with bacon, banana, peanut butter and honey... it was amazing. My only complaint, and it was a relatively small one, was the woman at the counter was cranky and not very helpful. When you have someone new come in, and can very likely become a regular and spread the word, don't be short with them. When I said I didn't know what to chose she replied with 'it doesn't really matter' no smile, no nothing. It won't stop me from coming back, but sometimes the staff can make a lasting impression.

Let's start with the things that are important to me... The restaurant was very clean throughout. The staff were constantly wiping tables, sweeping, cleaning service counters. I like that! In my head, if they are clean with the restaurant, then they are clean with the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They seemed to enjoy working there. Kid friendly which is a huge plus for me (maybe not for some, but that's ok, too). One of the most stressful things about finding a place to eat is making sure your kids will be comfortable and that you won't disturb other diners. Not the case here. There were little ones everywhere. Just all around a wonderful experience. Now onto the food... it was delicious. I got the Frankie J and the Frankie B with a side of sweet potato French fries with blue cheese and honey topping. YES!! My eyes were bigger than my appetite. I could only eat one dog and 1/2 the fries. I would have liked to have seen a bigger dog on the bun, but not a huge deal for me. It was all just a lovely meal with nice people and happy kids. I doesn't get much better than that!!!

This was our first stop after landing in Charleston, largely due to their IG marketing- most days they have a featured dog available for a $5 lunch combo. Their prices are so low though that it's not really necessary. Perfectly Frank's is obviously known for their hot dogs- I opted for the Frank Cuda (chili, cheese, bleu cheese slaw, bacon, crispy onion) and while it was a huge, there was so much going on with the flavors that nothing really stood out, it was kind of just a big old mess. A tasty mess, but the flavors didn't really go with each other. Surprisingly, my guy's choice of the sweet-tea marinated fried pork chop sandwich stole the show. The melted cheddar was definitely a prominent topping, but unfortunately the red-eye gravy mayo just didn't stand out. Overall it was a really good sandwich, though. Service was super friendly. There was a backup in the kitchen and staff were cool about letting customers known there was a delay and why. Lots of drink and dessert selections available.

We have enjoyed Frank's numerous times off Yelp lol. Now let's make it official! Perfectly Frank's does the dog honor! Try anything but fries are a must and I personally love Frankie goes to Cuba but I want to try them all! I like the Bleu Cheese anything. While the Best Salad Ever was delicious it lacked enough dressing without having to purchase extra. But it was worth it and very filling! We came tonight for Pokemon Go pokestop (Frank's is one) and it was local talent live and we were so happy the servers were down. Summerville has much talent to be proud of! Thanks a dinner with my husband I'll treasure doing one of our wish lists! We will always be back! The decor is simple and welcoming. Like having an indoor picnic with the town. Good lighting average noise level but we can hold a conversation. Enjoy!

Hot dogs, sausage, bratwurst and turkey dogs with all the toppings you could think of. They are labeled with fun names like the Aretha Franklin, Frankie J, Frank Sinatra etc. there are also burgers and tacos. Even ice cream flats with various soda flavors. Sweet!

Outside of Perfectly Frank's, I am a hot dog traditionalist: I will eat it plain or with some ketchup or mustard. The menu is so extensive and creative here, that I just can't bring myself to eat a "normal" dog. I have tried the Frank Morgan (topped with mac and cheese), Frank Cuda (topped with chili, cheese, bleu cheese slaw, bacon and crispy onions) and the Frank Thomas (yellow mustard, tomatoes, sweet pickle relish, kraut, sport peppers, onions and celery seed). My favorite is the Frank Cuda. I am not a fan of bleu cheese so I was leary of the slaw but it isn't overpowering and really fits with the other toppings. If you make a trip to Perfectly Frank's, just know that it will be likely be very busy and you may have to wait a bit for your food. We sat outside yesterday at one of two tables but there were people standing around inside waiting for a table to open.

Eating my way through Charleston - Part 10 The last stop on our journey was a great hot dog joint called Perfectly Franks. Every hot dog on the menu is named after someone "frank" and the choices are plentiful. I got the Aretha Franklin (pulled pork, cole slaw, bbq sauce, onion strings), the Franklin's Tower (bacon, cream cheese, grilled onions), the Frankie "Elvis" (peanut butter, honey, grilled bananas, bacon), and beer battered onion rings. The Aretha Franklin was delicious but felt like the safest bet on the table, the Frankie "Elvis" was way better than I would have expected a hot dog covered in peanut butter could be, but the best hot dog at the table was Franklin's Tower. I was skeptical about the cream cheese and hot dog flavor combination but when paired with the grilled onions and bacon it blended together to create one of the best hot dogs I have ever come across. After visiting 10 restaurants in two days we were pretty well stuffed and it was time to head back to the QC. With little man strapped in the back seat, my lady to my right, and a full tank of gas, we made our way back to Charlotte and our Charleston Restaurant Hopping vacation was officially over.

If you would have told me that I would be as excited as I was at a "hot dog place" I would have told you that it was crazy - true, but crazy. We stopped in at Perfectly Franks on a Friday for lunch. It was about 1:00 p.m. and the place was packed. Although not a very large restaurant, it was impeccably clean and incredibly well run, and did I mention, packed... The service system is simple. You place your order at a counter and your meal is brought to you. No one told us that there would be at least 25 people ahead of us trying to do the same thing. Be that as it may the ordering process went quickly and I camped out at a table waiting for lunch. Even with the incredible line (which continued throughout our stay there), our lunch was ready in about 5 minutes. It was awesome. Although I am certain that you can order any hot dog that you'd like, many on the menu are named after a "Frank". My "Frank Thomas" was their replica of a Chicago Dog, minus the poppy seeded roll. Relish, sauerkraut, mustard, hot peppers, mustard, celery salt and tomato slices topped the roll. Be aware too that it's not just a hot dog roll. There are just too many toppings to squeeze into a plain old hot dog roll!! The roll is much larger and easily holds your hot dog delight! My husband ordered two dogs. The Frank 'Cuda was named after the owner, Perry 'Cuda and was something to see. A dog topped with blue cheese, cole slaw, fried onion strings and chili was a decadent hot dog display. And he didn't stop there. The "Frank Morgan" was a hot dog topped with macaroni and cheese. Yes, you've read this correctly, mac 'n cheese. What appeared to be Velvetta laden mac' n cheese covered the dog and although my husband was full from his first dog, he kept on going... It was simply irresistible. We did also split an order of fries, although very good, they were somewhat lost in the mix - our lunch total - $14.00. No surprise that the line of 20 - 25 people waiting to order continued throughout our stay. It was crazy good. We have always liked Jack's Cosmic dogs but after our visit to Perfectly Frank's it's safe to say that there really is no comparison. Perfectly Franks is simply, perfect.
